Collaborative robotics in industry … and with a look at future applications
An overview of technologies and methodologies related to robotics and advanced manufacturing for industry 4.0, which allow to introduce robots in production processes much more efficiently, making them accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises. In particular, collaborative robots (co-bots) are able to interact safely with human operators, and this can make production faster and more flexible, and support man in carrying out his tasks, especially those physically more heavy and wearing, thus minimizing the risks of accidents at work. A glance will also be thrown to the future of collaborative robotics, which can potentially include different areas in addition to industry 4.0.
