Virtual environments are an increasingly important research tool in various application sectors.
Simulated scenarios often require the presence of animated human characters acting as virtual actors, as a user’s digital counterpart, as a tool for ergonomics and human factors studies. This session will present the state of the art of research in the sector, some examples in the most relevant application domains and the proposal of a vision for a future in which men will increasingly interact with virtual and robotic counterparts
